Ooh Provence in December sounds like an excellent idea. I went to Nice at the end of September last year and it was perfect (the overnight train from Paris also stops at Marseille - super cheap!)

Interesting to hear what else Culturespaces run - if I remember correctly they look after the Rothschild mansion at St Jean Cap Ferrat (which is GORGEOUS and definitely worth a visit)

Thank you, both these recommendations sound fabulous! I feel that 2024 is going to be the year of the sleeper train! I will check out that one.

I was surprised when I researched Culturespaces to see how many different projects they run all over.

Merci beaucoup for reading and writing back!

I was going to put a picture in the letter but I had second thoughts, let me find a way to share one!

“…where the owner was so impressed by my outlandish gold coat that he gave me a free peanut butter cookie. “ The image of a gold coat is great at this festive time of year.

“…wandered a little round the charming Provencal streets before motoring on to our next stop…”

Don’t know why, but the word “motoring” reminds me of the refrain in a “one-hit wonder” called “Sister Christian,” from when I was courting my wife, Patty (I hoped I was Mr. Right) …it was our 32nd anniversary December 15th:

“You're motoring

What's your price for flight?

In finding Mister Right

You'll be alright tonight”

“Many Rembrandts in a quarry” That’s breathtaking.

“My entry for the strange paintings section at the charity shop.” Wonderful!

I hope your affliction is resolved…if the cough persists ask a doctor for a short-course of dexamethasone or prednisone…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
