Gosh those look and sound delicious.

Someone once told me how much butter went into croissants. I tried my best to forget and just enjoy eating them 😆

I love little stories of coincidences like this. That's so awesome.

"It’s not often (for a human, at least) that your sense of smell makes you a new friend."

I think it is more often in the art of romance that your sense of smell comes into play. I know for a while that any sort of musk smelling cologne or perfume made me weak at the knees. And I know that the perfume "Charlie" played the deciding role in a romance while I was in college. I don't even know if they make "Charlie" anymore, do they? "Charlie" isn't a bashful type of perfume, it's out there! Or at least the way that college girl wore it was; there was no nuance to it. I just know my shirts all smelled like "Charlie" when I would return to the men's dorm, way way back in the day. And for sure everyone can agree that the smell of suntan lotion and the beach is quite an aphrodisiac.

"I walked past the Boulangerie and smelled the unmistakable aroma of hot cross buns..."

Oh yes, I know the smell of hot cross buns being raised Catholic in the States. Drooling...

"During that time, commerces de bouche (‘mouth shops’)..."

What a marvelous description!

Just great photos of La Boulangerie du Square. I especially like the serene photo of Kimchi the cat. But the baked goods and the style of the shop and how everything is presented is really quite stylish and alluring.

As for economics, it's neither fish nor fowl; it's not really mathematics and it's not really science. It's probably more art than anything else; possibly a dark art out of Harry Potter.
