Thanks for the letter, Hannah. Zadie has it right, for sure. I yo-yo between wanting a full phone detox and then realising that it's largely impossible with work and they way certain aspects of modern society run. But in the mornings and evenings I very much try to distance myself.

Last week was a train wreck with what happened with Zelenskyy. Every week is a train wreck under Trump. The weeks just get progressively worse and worse. It makes me want to ignore the news entirely, but then I equally want to remain informed. I steer well clear of Xwitter, though.

Love this perspective Hanna. And I think Zadie Smith is close to being right. I think we consume so much information. And it is literally overwhelming.

I increasingly think we're still in the Cold War!

Decide what you want to think about is in itself a good thing to think about! I worked very hard to prevent Lord Voldemort from getting elected this past year. I spent my money designing three websites and I had a firm on the Isle of white create to 30 second radio spots. I could see the coming train wreck when so many could not or would not.

So after the election I decided what I wanted to think about and it did not include anything about Lord Voldemort or his minions. So I have not watched any news dropped all of my newspapers where I followed the news digitally and I'm very happy and content. Lord Voldemort has no room to rent between my ears.

However, that does not mean that when reasonable rational people decide that they've had enough and they man the barricades I will be right there beside them. I think that's what it's going to take to turn things around. Unfortunately. But that's what happens all throughout history. However, as the French have shown Revolution has a way of turning inside out. It's just like the Who sang, "See the new boss same as the old boss."

And as far as the book club goes this month I don't want to read any stories about women being assaulted and mistreated. Another case of deciding what to think about. Have a great week!
